From Buenos Aires we flew south to San Carlos de Bariloche. Besides the beautiful, scenic nature we found that there was a surprising abundance of microbreweries in the area. We managed to visit 4 of the 18 local breweries (even we have limits), and especially enjoyed the beers at Berlina and Bachmann.
Alex’s parents found great accommodations for us; an architect-designed villa with a living green grass roof and views of the lake and mountains from all of the rooms. Here we enjoyed our evenings making home-cooked meals, including a superb Argentinean mixed meat BBQ.
While in the Bariloche area, we went on various hikes, swam in mountain lakes, saw breathtaking scenery, enjoyed a day boat ride visiting Nahuel Huapi National Park and explored Colonia Suiza on craft market day.
Wow, cool house and like the yarn bombing!
