We spent a relaxing 2 days cruising up the Mekong river in late October. While we mostly just watched the jungle and mountains drift by in the mist, we also stopped at a local cave and Buddhist shrine, stayed the night in the tiny town of Pak Beng, and visited a local village. All-in-all, a great way to travel, especially as a change from crowded airports.
