During our stay in Zadar, Croatia, a small town up the coast from Split, we drove out to Paklenica National Park were we spent over 6 hours hiking, swimming and visiting an amazing cave.
We parked about 2 hours hike from the first major landmarks in the park
The morning sun on the cliffs as we hiked in
The main canyon followed a river with a series of small waterfalls and crystal clear pools
The hike to Manita peć cave was 40 minutes up to an altitude of 570m
This gives a good idea of what the hike was like. Fairly intense, but mostly a challenge due to the heat
It’s a desert climate in mid-July, so needless to say it was insanely hot
The views were spectacular
It was great to get back down to the river where we could cool off
We founds this great little waterfall just below the pool where we stopped to swim
View of the canyon as we headed back for the day
